Every Day Party

If you are not for us, it is OK!

BEWARE THE SORCERY AGENDA!

Dear reader,

We are a group of conservative believers from the Every Day Party. The Every Day Party is a pluralistic bunch, which means that we stick together even though we hold different social, political, and religious beliefs. A few of us – O the horror! – may not even have beliefs. So let it be clear from the start that we are speaking here for ourselves and not for those incorrigible, hedonistic Christian liberals who thrive within our party. (God forgive them, but may they at least burn a little in Hell!)

We believe that this whole universe was made by God in six Gregorian days with fixed principles and rules. These principles are eternal, and they are good: “God saw all that he had made, and it was very good” (Genesis 1:31). It is why, to maintain the integrity of His creation, God gave His chosen people of old hundreds upon hundreds of laws to follow. Laws are also what founded science, although it took science rather long to discover what these laws are. Nature is called Nature for very good reasons – because to deviate from it would be un-natural.

We are now seeing a looming threat to this fundamental truth, and it can destroy the order in society as God has intended it. The threat not only challenges the basis of our belief but also foments doubt, distrust, confusion, and misunderstanding among people, bringing chaos and ugly fashion into this world. We are talking about magic, that occult practice that breaks our knowledge that all is well in creation. Magic seduces us, our families, and our friends into thinking that there are ways to twist power out of God’s hands and confound what is fixed in His eternal decrees.

Worse, all this is now accepted as mere entertainment by society at large! So a lady is sawn in half and joined again, a man disappears and reappears somewhere else, a carpet flies ten inches off the ground carrying some butt, a thought is read – and no one blinks an eye. Exodus 22:18 explicitly warns: “Do not allow a sorceress to live.” Thankfully, in these enlightened times, we no longer condone such dreadful, barbaric putting to death of witches. Or what would become of our economy if workers were to be called up all the time to “help with” police investigations into their chanting and winning in mahjong or at the casino?

But this end to capital punishment does not make the sin any less hideous. Some Christians – those vile liberals again! – have twisted the verse to say that a male sorcerer should be OK. No, no, no! Deuteronomy 18.10-12 makes it plain: “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices their son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist, or who consults the dead.”

Galatians 5:19-21 further names sorcery among the “works of the flesh”, ranking it with vices such as sexual immorality, idolatry, strife, fits of anger, rivalries, drunkenness, and orgies. The Lord Himself declares that “the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters, and all liars” will be “consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur” (Revelations 21:8).

Sad to say, the Sorcery Agenda has already made inroads into our ordinary life. Today, we speak of magic in terms of illusions, child’s play, and treat it as something amusing and relaxing. Such is how the Devil has beguiled us! C. S. Lewis warns of two errors we may commit with regard to devils: “One is to disbelieve in their existence. The other is to believe, and to feel an excessive and unhealthy interest in them.” Magic leads us into both errors. It makes us ignore the demonic force behind a card flying off a deck or a thumb sliding along a finger. At the same time, it makes us over-curious, desiring to understand and master such arts in order to receive the admiration (and money) of others.

Even if these “illusions” can be explained scientifically, we ought not to ignore the effect they have on our souls. They lead us to take pleasure in – even applaud like monkeys – what looks unnatural and thus sow seeds of rebellion, dishonesty, and a love of deception. Look how the Sorcery Agenda has already enslaved our children! After “harmless” stories of magic carpets and potions come the Harry Porter books, the Pokemon cartoons, the magic shows on TV, and more, to steal their hearts away from the love of their families. Is it any surprise that our children are rebellious and rude towards us? Is it any wonder that they grow up uncritically heeding the words of miracle men, even treating them as spiritual masters?

We who are enemies of the Sorcery Agenda are not haters. We are lovers who simply wish to lead society back into the fold of God’s eternal truths. In whatever guise he or she takes, the magic-maker is only a misguided soul who, in his or her misguidedness, misguides others on the road of misguidance. So we ask you first to recognise the real enemy: love the magician, but hate the magic. In this battle against deception, we must practise love at all times and in all forms – and yet we must not let love stop us from hating what we cannot accept.

Therefore, in all fullness of love, we call on users of magic to repent of their foul deeds and just stop. Stop hurting yourself and your dress sense, stop testing the limits of truth and taste, stop seducing others, and come back to God’s reality. We ask you, O magician, to stop concealing or making excuses for your love of deceit and come clean. Admit to your wrongs. Even you can be reformed.

We who resist the Sorcery Agenda and its threat want everyone to know this: God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life. The path one takes with magic is not part of that plan. If you know of someone, a child or a community leader, who is drawn to this dark art, we want you to be aware and to try to correct this poor person and protect our collective future. And know that you are not alone. Join our push as one to rid this threat of our time that is destroying our people spiritually from within.
