Sleep of a Good Conscience

Please do not blame the Devil
It’s truly not his fault
Your church accounts are queried
And your leadership gets hauled.

The Police are not his minions
Nor the Commissioner his friend
And leave the whistleblowers –
There’s just no Satanic trend.

In fact, I know this Devil
He argues with me all day
At night he sits beside my bed
And folds his wings to stay.

Then he talks to me of riches,
Fame, power, and health to keep
And all I say to him is NO
Before I turn to sleep.
